Solidarity pricing and sliding scale FAQ
pay up to $50 less than the standard rates listed for your area (in Oakland a 60 minute session could be from $$60-$110).
skip tip! just tell me the total you’d like to pay, calculate what you’d have normally added for a tip if you want to do that.
amount you choose isn’t static! you can change where in the scale you choose to pay. did your finances change? feel free to adjust however you need.
curious to read more about sliding scale? peep here and here for starters!
Please use this graphic as a starting off point when considering sliding scale. Sliding scale is not for going off of “vibes” and how you feel about your money today, but more where you exist in the broader economic landscape of our times. Not mentioned in this graphic are race and gender based oppression, so please allow that to be considered in your self assessment.
It is up to you to self evaluate and I want my work to feel accessible with the ups and downs of surviving capitalism! I am open to discussing further if you have any questions.
COVID (AND OTHER VIRUSES!)
Please see below for my current protocols in my practice regarding minimizing risk of transmission of COVID19. I believe healing touch has a role in building a more equitable and just world including working through the grief and trauma of a pandemic. Even as we receive less guidance from government and a constant minimization of the pandemic, I’ve watched many clients’ mobility, energy, strength, and immunity change drastically since repeat covid infections. It is for this reason and honoring the asks of immuno compromised and disability justice community that I continue to do what I can to lower the risk of spreading germs.
as of 2024, I still wear a mask and suggest that you do, too but its not required for clients to wear a mask during their session
fans, and air purifier are on to add ventilation
3 clients maximum a day, typically with at least 10-30 minutes in between sessions for airing out and disinfecting
I am fully vaccinated by staying up to date with boosters and you must be too (or have medical reason for being unvaccinated)
I wipe down commonly touched surfaces with rubbing alcohol
In my personal life, I wear a mask indoors in public spaces 90% of the time. I occasionally (rarely) take calculated risks forgoing a mask at social gatherings or indoor public areas. I test regularly, use nasal sprays, take vitamin d, and utilize other mitigation tools to lower the spread. Not only is asymtopmatic spread a continued threat for more vulnerable populations, but I continue to be diligent with my covid caution protocols because most all of my work is very physical and I want to stay healthy to continue to provide care to my community! I share all of this because I want you to have all the information you need to decide where to get a massage and for a larger context of the continued reality of the pandemic and how I try to uphold my commitment to community care. I recommend following the People’s CDC for updated information about covid19.
Soon I’ll be offering molecular tests for $12! If you’re interested in the investment that makes this possible, go here or follow Clean Air Club on instagram.
Please reach out if you have any questions!
There is a ramp going into the building and my massage office is on the first floor.
Is it hard to get comfy laying face down because your flop over the edge of the table or your boobs make it difficult to breathe fully or for your shoulders to relax? I have table extenders if the table in your past massages just hasn’t felt wide enough and a titty cushion for folks with large breasts/chests that helps give the shoulder a lift and more space to take fuller breaths. They are separate units, so if both or either sound like they’d help your comfort, let me know!
Have other accommodations not listed here? Let me know and we’ll brainstorm together!
