topics covered in this course

COMMUNICATION IS KEY

In this class, we’ll go over very simple communication tools in order to give and receive the massage you want. These are communication tools that will go far beyond the container of a massage class, but will help you in other realms of your life, such as at work, with family, and other interpersonal relationships.

BODY MECHANICS DURING MASSAGE

Have you tried giving partners massage in the past but only can handle a few minutes at a time because yours hands or back start to hurt? I’ll be very explicit about how best to use your body so you can provide a quality massage without hurting yourself.

HOW TO OFFER GROUNDING TOUCH

Touch is of course another huge tool of communication, especially during massage! I’ll be going over and prompting you all to consider how different types of touch feel and what might make a touch feel confident, firm, ticklish, icky, or relaxing. How to make our intentions made clear through our touch may not be obvious, but I will help you begin to unpack this during class.
